For Dia de los Muertos, EternoSteeLo Culture will host its 6th annual Barrio Muertos event in San Antonio, Texas at the Alamo Beer Company. Founded by entrepreneur and rap artist Ese Davy Espinoza, EternoSteeLo is a well-known and popular Chicano clothing brand based in San Antonio that hosts events throughout the year including their ‘Summer Nights’ party typically hosted around July. The brand itself was initially founded in 2013 by Espinoza and continues to make a strong impact on the Chicano community in Texas and beyond. This November 2nd, locals will be treated to one of the biggest parties of the year (free admission) as Barrio Muertos will see hundreds come out to celebrate Dia de los Muertos with plenty of festive flare and vibrant creativity from San Antonio’s Chicano community.
For those unfamiliar, Dia de los Muertos marks a significant holiday in Mexican and Latino culture as people look to celebrate, remember, and honor their deceased loved ones. Reflecting on the event’s theme and holiday, Espinoza explains further, “Barrio Muertos is a Day Of The Dead celebration with an urban twist that was started in 2018 with a concept created by a group of friends who all share the same passion for the culture,” he said. Adding, “This year we return for another great cultural experience at Alamo Beer Company. The venue’s location makes it a great photo opportunity as the Hays Street Bridge overlooks the city’s skyline.”
As for the importance of retaining culture, Espinoza thinks it’s vital for Chicanos to continue supporting each other while celebrating our rich cultural history and keeping traditions alive, “The generations and various age groups attracted by our type of events made us realize how important of a role we play in keeping the culture alive,” he reiterated. With Barrio Muertos making its first appearance in 2018, it has significantly grown over the years as more people and sponsors get involved, “One of the most obvious differences would be the amount of attendees. We started with about 200 people at our first event expecting over 3k at this one. Another one of the biggest changes is that I’ve met other great souls along the way who have become a part of the team and I’ve learned a lot from them to help us grow the event (Barrio Muertos) every year and make it more of an organized system.” Attendees can expect plenty of lowriders, various food vendors, a live DJ, car show, awards, giveaways, live art, special appearances, and more. Get ready to party it up with EternoSteeLo and celebrate your loved ones’ memory.

“We are open to working with sponsors who would find value in being part of what we’ve worked so hard to build. We want to work with other brands who are out there making moves too.” – Ese Davy
